It is good that you figured out what your topic will be on. I look forward to hearing more about it.
As Mahoney says: "anything makes a good topic," and I think writing about something you like, which is your major is a good start for your blog.
However, I wonder if you could work on the visual design of your blog by adding some graphics.
It took me a while to find aything to write about. I had to change my blog three times, but I finally decided and now I have a lot of ideas. You will have a lot to say about your topic and good luck with all your classes.

Damn English that sounds tough. I hope you love english cause it looks like your going to be living in them books and writing ten million essays.
